Frozen yogurt is my kryptonite. I mean I will claw my way through a busy grocery store to satisfy my sweet tooth especially if it’s TTOTM I’m hungry. My favorite summer treat is vanilla fro-yo with almond butter drizzled over top and sprinkled with fresh bloobs. You can imagine my distress when the doctor recommended me to cut dairy out of my life no? I was pretty jazzed when I hopped over to our health food store and saw many options for dairy free ice creams.
It was enlightening! However, I did find one culprit that my gut does NOT enjoy: Carrageenan I saw this in my cultured coconut yogurt, my almond milk and in Soy Delicious vanilla fro-yo After I eliminated eating those things and switched my brand of almond milk to this one that didn’t contain this stabilizer my stomach pains went away!
Enter the new love of my life: Living Harvest Tempt Vanilla Bean ice cream
YES, you read that correctly…an ice cream made from hemp and man is it delicious! I will admit the texture is a bit unique, almost “dry” as opposed to creamy. However, the plus side is that this stuff doesn’t melt as easily as typical ice creams which means you can take your time to savor every last bite! Last night, I had some vanilla bean tempt and topped it with frozen bloobs & Justin’s maple almond butter. Heaven in my mouth. Hey Justin, I’m dying to try your chocolate almond butter, tell the stores nationwide to get with it and stock the shelves!
