happy weekend everyone! the last few days have been bittersweet. my grandma passed away on thursday morning after heading into the hospital on new years eve. while it’s a sad event, i am relieved that she was given mercy and does not have to be in pain or suffer anymore. i’ve been trying to keep my mind occupied the last few days by going into work instead of taking a paid grieving time. . .
my company was so sweet and had a flower delivered to me this morning: a king of orchids! little did they know, they happen to be one of my favorite flowers (the sexual deceivers of the plant kingdom no less lol as i learned in plant taxonomy class).
nate has been wonderfully supportive and i wanted to do something nice for him today as well so we went to the warhol museum to see alex ross’s exhibition ‘heroes & villains’ based on comic illustration work. nate is a huge fan of his illustration and the exhibition ends tomorrow! we bought ourselves a museum membership pass for 2012 so we can go to any of the four carnegie museums for free as many times as we want! i was pretty impressed! i also really enjoyed one of ross’s major influences ‘andrew loomis.’ have you heard of his work? it’s pretty intriguing so you should check it out! i’m really glad i went and i had a perfect date
nate slapping wonder woman’s thigh:
candid of the day, i just felt so peaceful i guess?
what’s going on with you this weekend? what was the last museum exhibit you’ve seen?

I’m sorry for your loss, Melissa and it’s such a nice gesture from your workplace sending your favorite flowers. That comic book art look awesome btw. I haven’t been to museum for ages..can’t remember the last time I went :p
Not much for me this weekend except I’d dread back to the 5 days of working week after having 4 days working week during holidays.

So sorry to hear about your grandma. I can empathize and while there really aren’t any words I can say, just know that I’m thinking about you (and your super cute blouse!)

Melissa, I am so so so sorry to hear about your grandmother. My thoughts and prayers are with our family. I lost my grandmother last Christmas, and like you, was comforted to know she was no longer suffering, as hard as it was to say goodbye. Love you. xoxo
