have you ever been sitting around craving a cocktail yet all the stores are closed? oh…just me? ok. well, humor me this… as a lover of all things vinegar/brine, i tend to enjoy the infrequent kombucha since they are so $$.
i toyed with the idea of fermenting my own but space in my kitchen is limited. enter the spontaneous decision to diy *instant* kombucha. hey, some of my finest ideas come to mind around 10pm.
you will need:
-1 inch piece fresh ginger root
-1/2 lime
-1/2 lemon
-1 tbsp raw apple cider vinegar
-stevia
method:
juice the ginger & citrus fruit (should make about 1/2 ounce to an ounce of juice) put 1tbsp ACV into a glass and pour your ginger-citrus juice over top. add a few drops of stevia to taste & top off with club soda or seltzer water! i used my diy seltzer in this post.

that’s it! enjoy your ‘instant booch!’ ^_^ happy weekend everyone!

The last time I tried kombucha was decades ago when it was introduced to me as “sour tea” ..I remembered it was very very sour with a bit of sweetness..interesting idea to make DIY kombucha! Thx for sharing!

Such a smart idea! We have a juicer but I never feel like cleaning it… we did brew our own ‘buch for almost a year but finally let our last batch go for way too long. Have to start it up again!

do it!

genius, Melissa! OMG! I have all of these ingredients too. I would have never thought to make a drink like this that mimics Booch.
Oh, and my juicer..in my MIL basement. I rarely use it now…was using it more for the pulp. I got freaked out about fructose and the high sugar. I know I can do straight veggie juices, but the clean up was annoying. My kitchen is SO small, I figure, (IF) we ever get out of this place I will make it more of a staple! For now I eat my plants or blend them! I have an old fashioned lemon and lime juicer that I use almost daily so that’s perfect for this recipe!
