happy weekend and good news!

we made it! can you believe it’s only 13 11 (WUT) days until christmas?! crazy.town.central. this news caught my eye and for those of you lucky enough to live near a shop or have shipping i am eternally envious! pierre herme has a new line of macaron flavors coming out in 2013 called ‘les jardins.’

remember when i was stuffing my face full of them here? well, the new flavors are inspired both aesthetically and in flavor from the luxe gardens bearing gorgeous fruits and herbs. here is the run down of the flavors:

January: Jardin Pamplemousse (Grapefruit, Clove, Nutmeg & Candied Grapefruit)
February: Jardin Sucré (Caramel & Rose)
March: Jardin du Maquis (Chocolate & Honey from the Maquis Shrubland Region of Corsica)
April: Jardin Japonais (Morello, Cherry, Lemon & Tonka Bean)
May: Jardin d’Ambre (Rose & Ambergris)
June: Jardin Potager (Apple, Mint, Cucumber & Roquette)
July: Jardin Fruité (Lime & Red Berries)
August: Jardin Andalou (Mandarin Orange, Olive Oil & Red Berries)
September: Jardin Merveilleux (Mandarin Orange, Olive Oil & Cucumber Water)
October: Jardin dans les Nuages (Chocolate & Smoked Salt)
November: Jardin dans les Bois (Vanilla, Old Gold Agricultural Rum & Cider Wood)

The two flavors that I’d most like to try are the japanese garden cherry & lemon one in april or the vanilla, run & cider wood from november! spotted via notcot where i pulled the gorgeous images.

do you love macarons as much as i do? what’s your favorite flavor or maker?

Well it looks like I’ll have to go to Paris for my birthday next year – chocolate and smoked salt in October sounds right up my alley!

i’m a sucker for anything smoked or savory inspired in a dessert since it cuts the sometimes cloying sweetness. well pending if i get some good news in january i might be going over to celebrate too ;)

OMG! Those macaroons look so pretty and very tempting! I haven’t tasted any good macaroons yet so can’t say much. I think I really need to go to Paris to taste real macaroons. Pretty sure the ones in the US are nothing compared to the originals. Happy weekend to you too. I’m so glad it’s almost here!

I love the macarons at the Laduree in Paris. And not because of the actual macarons but more because I’m in Paris eating them. :)

Macaroons are yummy but I actually don’t obsess over them as much as most girls i know. I think I’m more of a savoury person.. if I eat sweets, I actually prefer fruit!
