hey guys! hope you had a nice weekend! we did lots of fun things the past couple days and celebrated my brother’s bday on saturday as well. i’m already looking forward to next weekend because 1. we are seeing les mis at the theatre 2. dinner reservations here + return of hockey party 3. morrissey concert!
since my hamstring injury (a grade II strain), i have pretty much done nothing in terms of exercise for the last four weeks! i am lucky that i can walk without crutches and i can handle a little bit of gentle yoga. what have i been doing? resting and lounging a lot! i love these beyond yoga pants i picked up with gilt credit! they are SO soft and much cheaper than lululemon which is nice for my wallet! my old ‘comfy’ pants bit the dust with a huge hole that opened up after i last washed them. i’ve had them for six years! i’d say i was due for a new pair no?
good thing i have lots of interests right?
i broke out my guitar and am getting back into playing again! it’s exciting because i put my acoustic away for over a year and haven’t picked it up once since we moved. hey, city life is fun and there’s so much to do at all times! i didn’t want to hole up and not take advantage! this seems like the perfect opportunity since i’ve had to slow things down until i heal.
what’s on tap for you this week? have you seen les mis the movie? i’ve only read the book, so i feel like i’m getting the full experience by seeing it live on stage!

I’ve seen the movie, seen it on Broadway, and seen it at a regional theater (I’m an actor, so Les Mis is pretty big with me). It’s great love – I hope you like it!

I know nothing about Les Mis. I love those pants! They look super cute and comfy. This week I am seeing Silver Linings Playbook, then going to a sour beer event downtown, then heading to NYC to visit my longtime bff. Cannot wait! Oh and there’s work I guess. <3

“some people genuinely enjoy eating/drinking that way and who are we to judge them for their lifestyle choices?” An excerpt from a blog you wrote on. In the end, these choices they are making directly impact our healthcare system, creating an enormous amount of chronic health conditions, increasing disability claims, and your taxes! In New York, they passed the “soda ban” because they do care about the problem. If nobody judges their lifestyle choices, how will ever get the obesity epidemic under control?

carl, i do respect the OP response to my comment. it was polite and she removed the photos of the ‘offenders’ which i think was the right thing to do. i agree that the one man in particular probably thought the sugar laden ‘green juice’ WAS a healthy choice. i am very passionate about this particular topic and am very much aware of the soda ban tax and i agree with it. however, simply placing a tax on something unhealthy will never fully eradicate the issue. people need to be educated about these topics and be allowed to make their own lifestyle choices. is it unfair that healthy people pay increasing healthcare costs due to chronic diseases caused by lifestyle? sure, but who said life was fair? love & light- x-M

whoa whoa whoa! did I miss the injury? man that sounds awful! I am so sorry! How did it happen? That kind of thing terrifies me! I strained by back 2 weeks ago and it was pretty painful for about 5 or 6 days. Luckily Papa GC studied acupuncture and massage while living in japan, so he was able to work on it for me, which provided a little bit of relief. Was it from pure barre?
anyway you look beautiful as always!
also, let me know how that cleanse goes! I dont think I could ever do one.. but still interested to hear your thoughts!

it happened during my last week of pure barre (i was in a split and heard 2 tearing noises just under my bum) then it was searing hot pain and i thought i might be taking a trip to the ER for an avulsion fracture! however, i ‘evaluated’ myself with some athletic training tests and figured that it was not surgical since i could do extension motions. i had a small bruise too on the back of my upper thigh! it still hurts right now so i’m pretty much a lazy slug and approaching week 5! i know it can take anywhere from 8wks-6months to fully heal so i am taking it easy
also…i probably shouldn’t have done the last 5 pure barre classes with an injured hammy but i was so close to finishing the challenge that i wouldn’t quit! motrin + my iron will=challenge complete lol

So sorry to hear about your injury! BOO. I’ve had several sports injuries and they’re a major bummer, but you’re so smart to stay off your feet. Rest can be hard (emotionally) if you’re used to an exercise regimen (and if you read blogs!) but listen to your body.
Also have the same yoga pants! Wearing them now. I live in them.

they are so soft! i love these yoga pants!
