what a weekend! i hope yours was as carefree as mine! we decided to do a little staycation but spend the evening in a fancy hotel and have lots of classic cocktails with a fabulously prepared meal! we took advantage of room service, sipped coffee long into the mornings and probably made a lot of people ill with the hand holding and cuddling. we’re going to be celebrating six years of marriage in october and i am overjoyed that our love is alive and well! it’s so important to take time out to nurture your relationship no matter how busy/stressed/overwhelmed you may feel.
i’m certainly no expert on marriage and while some may scoff at a relationship under a decade, i know that by now the blinders are off. no relationship has made it this far without seeing some of the best and worst parts of our personalities. when we met, i had some of the tallest ‘walls’ nate had ever seen. i just could not let my guard down! growing up, my parents had even referred to me as the ‘ice princess’ because i was just so cold…never letting anyone in! i’m an extremely private person (oh the irony of having a public blog right)? you can imagine my parent’s surprise when i came to them with news of my engagement! i’m pretty sure, most around me were convinced i’d be going gray by the time i finally succumbed to the aisle
i don’t even know where this post is going but all this to say, take time out to nurture yourself and those who are important around you. it’s so easy to get swept up in ‘how busy’ you feel but really, you WILL make time for people/things that matter. invest in your life, it’s so worth it! now go make the most of september–a brand new season to reach your goals and keep dreaming ^_^
