how to be an explorer of the world

hey everyone! i missed you, and my apologies for the radio silence. it’s been a busy and productive week and i’ve got some excitement planned for today (peep my instagram later: @misathemeb). in order to prepare myself for said excitement, i have to keep this pretty short.

a few random items, i recently got the fitbit flex (my lab moved and now i’m doing a lot more walking than usual so i wanted to track those steps). i’m a data junkie what can i say? i’ll let you know how i like it even if the jawbone UP is a far sexier looking wristlet. the reviews/price sold me on the flex.

also, nate and i are becoming fluent conversational at this point, in our beloved languages using duolingo. i’m expanding my french and nate is relearning italian! you should check it out and add us if you are doing it too! there are so many languages to choose from and i’m having a lot of fun keeping the owl ‘happy.’ the creators of this app are from pittsburgh…can i mention any more how much i love my city?

finally, i was pointed towards this blog called brain pickings, and they shared an article today that really resonated with me. you can get the book here. i hope it spurs you on to change the way you think about the world as well!

do you know any other languages? what’s on tap for you this weekend?

Does getting sleep count as being an explorer? Because I didn’t get up until after noon today. :( I feel like the worst explorer ever (of course, I went to bed really really late, so I’m using that as an excuse).

That book looks really cool, though! Also, I set up a duolingo account, but haven’t started yet. I wanted to take French.

Love Instagram and love following you on Instagram!

I know a tiny bit of Spanish and Hindi but languages aren’t really my strong point, unfortunately! Wish I could master French, it would make me feel really cultured. :)
